The Psychology of Poor College Students
There are many university students coming from the rural countryside, which is quite different from the city, so it causes many results to the students. As we all know, it’s very poor in the countryside. The person who lives in that environment and can go to university is very lucky, in the meanwhile, very difficult.
So, many students extremely treasure① this chance for further study and work very hard in the school in order to change the lives of themselves, coupled with② their families’, hometowns’ and motherlands’. As a result, a great many famous people emerge.
However, it’s not absolute. Some other students think that if they don’t wear, eat., use the same things as the urban ones, they will be looked down upon③, and will certainly lose face in front of others. Consequently, they don’t consider the economic conditions of their poor families and use money excessively④ and the result is obvious.
Some other students think that they don’t know things as many as other people, so they always feel quite embarrassed. They are afraid of being hurt, so they protect themselves by not contacting with other persons and always doing things alone. This will definitely lead to their isolation.
At last, I want to say everyone should recognize himself/herself correctly and remember that all of us have shortcomings and long comings. We can’t choose our birth, but we can choose our future if we are full of confidence and work hard!

本文是一篇根据命题展开的说明文。全文围绕“大学生的不同心理状态”这个中心展开。
在第一段中，作者首先交代了很多大学生来自贫穷的农村这个客观事实。接着从第二段开始，用了三个自然段的篇幅，分析这些学生的各种不同的心理状况。一方面，因为出身贫寒，很多大学生非常刻苦努力，并在后来可以做出很好的成绩；可另一方面，也有一些大学生喜欢与人攀比，后果可想而知。还有一些学生因为自卑而不与人交往，总是把自己孤立起来。最后一段是对全文的总结，指出每个人都有自己的长处和短处。此段中的We can’t choose our birth, but we can choose our future if we are full of confidence and work hard!一句非常铿锵有力，真可谓是一句至理名言。
另外，本文不仅说理透彻，结构完整，而且作者善于运用很多过渡性的词语，如：As we all know, So, As a result, However, Consequently，Some other，At last等，使意义之间的过渡自然流畅。多处长句的使用更有助于作者表达复杂的思想。
